Peter Gleick , Pacific Institute, USA
Dr. Peter Gleick is a hydroclimatologist, innovator, and communicator on water and climate issues. He co-founded the Pacific Institute in California in 1987, one of the most innovative, independent research centers, creating and advancing solutions to the world’s most pressing water challenges. His work addresses the human right to water, peak water, water and climate, and water, peace, and security issues. Gleick is a MacArthur Fellow and elected member of both the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Among other honors, Gleick is the recipient of the Ven Te Chow Award (IWRA), the U.S Water Prize, the Csallany Award (AWRA), and the Carl Sagan Prize for Science Popularization. He received his B.S. from Yale University and M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Gleick is the author or editor of many scientific papers and fourteen books, including The Three Ages of Water: Prehistoric Past, Imperiled Present, and a Hope for the Future (2023, PublicAffairs/Hachette).
