Emma Johnston, UNSW Sydney, Australia
Professor Johnston AO FRSN is Dean of Science and Professor of Marine Ecology and Ecotoxicology at UNSW Sydney. She is President of Science & Technology Australia and a board member of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and the Antarctic Science Foundation. Professor Johnston is Head of the Applied Marine and Estuarine Ecology Lab at UNSW and frequently contributes expert opinion to government agencies and industry. She is an influential communicator, as well as an exceptional role model for female scientists, and has been recognised many times for the innovation and impact of her work, including via receipt of the prestigious Royal Society of NSW Clarke Medal for Zoology.
